Overview
Prior to Fiscal year 2001, the main responsibility of the Facilities Operations Division was limited to managing contracts for various end-users. During the latter part of FY 2001, in-house repairs were initiated with the intent of reducing the outsourcing of costly minor repairs to GPA assets.
This move provided a proactive response to facility-related issues of the different departments and divisions within GPA, and greatly contributed to a safe and effective working environment.
Starting Fiscal Year 2002, the Facilities Operations Division has developed into a division that end users rely on for assistance and support, with a daily average of 19 calls, critical calls being responded to immediately.
Inventory has been built up to include equipment and tools for carpentry, ground maintenance, air conditioning repairs and preventive maintenance, as well as minor electrical and plumbing requirements.
