The Computer Tech/Hardware section is responsible for the installation, program configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of all RTU's and all other associated EMS/SCADA equipment from base location to RTU site ensuring that these units are fully and continuously operational; installation and maintenance of the local area network and other hardware systems such as the fire and security alarm system installed within PSCC; maintenance of the backup generator; fiber optic cable installation and testing; coordinates with all other sections pertaining to RTU and other computer issues; provides assistance to the Communications section; and provides on-call 24 hours a day support.
