Training and Development:
The Guam Power Authority’s Training and Development Section is responsible for providing quality training opportunities to develop and enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance on the job. The Training and Development Section is also committed to providing continuous training services to ensure employee safety in the workplace.
Guam Power Authority Apprenticeship Training Program:
The Guam Power Authority Apprenticeship Training Program is a great program designed to identify and recruit qualified apprentices interested in developing a career in the industrial trades. Apprentices in the Program may be trained in any of the following trades offered:
- Lineman Repairer
- Electric-Meter Repairer
- Electrician, Substation
- Relay Technician
- Power Plant Operator
- Instrument Technician
- Machinist
The objectives of GPA’s Apprenticeship Training Program are to develop highly skilled apprentices thoroughly and broadly to qualify as a journeyman. The program also provides a potential source of key employees and supervisor and enhances the character, personality and industrial initiative of the apprentices.
